Josephine Norkaitis Student Success Center Opens

Today, leaders from Mercy College of Health Sciences and the Mercy Foundation dedicated and announced the opening of the new Josephine Norkaitis Student Success Center.


Named for the late philanthropist and education advocate Josephine Norkaitis, the space is located on the Mercy College campus in downtown Des Moines. The Josephine Norkaitis Student Center provides students with opportunities to enhance their education through academic and personal counseling, tutoring and related support services.

The 100 Great Iowa Nurses award recognizes nurses that have made meaningful, lasting contributions to their patients, colleagues, and the nursing profession, and are viewed as mentors to other nursing professionals. This year’s honorees exemplify all of the principles on which the 100 Great Iowa Nurses Celebration was founded.
Nominations for 2018 are officially open, and will close on Dec. 31, 2017! Honorees will be announced on March 1, 2018.

Diana Deibler Concludes 9-Year Mercy College Board Tenure

In her tenure on the Mercy College Board, Deibler served as the 2013-14 Chair, 2014-15 Vice Chair, and the 2015-16 Secretary. Deibler's final term came to a close in August, 2017.
