Mercy College Announces New Academic Dean

Mercy College of Health Sciences is pleased to announce the appointment of their new Academic Dean, Glenda Gallisath, PhD. Dr. Gallisath most recently served as the Associate Vice President for Accreditation and Assessment at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois.

glenda-gallisathDr. Gallisath brings extensive experience in academic affairs including academic program review, new program development, academic partnerships and outreach, accreditation, assessment, and strategic initiatives to improve student persistence and success. She has also held membership and leadership positions on several boards pertaining to healthcare and human services, fine arts, non-profit agencies, and community development. Dr. Gallisath received her PhD in Higher Education from Iowa State University.

In 2005, she completed the Harvard University Institute for Educational Management, a nationally recognized leadership program for senior-level administrators in higher education.

Since 2013, Dr. Gallisath has served as a primary mentor to colleges and universities in the Persistence and Completion Academy and the Student Success Academy of the Higher Learning Commission. She spent the first 15 years of her career in Sioux City where she served in academic leadership positions at Morningside College and Western Iowa Tech Community College.
