Mercy College of Health Sciences took part in the Higher Learning Commission’s Assessment Academy from Spring 2012 – Spring 2016. The purpose of the activity was to run a pilot study to assess our current level of applying critical thinking in our teaching design and how outcomes could be different if the design was built across the curricula with greater intent. The outcomes have supported greater efforts in aligning curriculum design, classroom delivery, and assessment of critical thinking.
In June, Mercy College administrators, faculty and staff presented the findings to colleagues at the 2016 HLC Assessment Academy Forum as part of the HLC Summer Professional Development Week in Oak Brook, Illinois. See the poster below for details.
