Nursing School. No way. It’s finally here. It is so hard to believe that I am in my first semester of the BSN program.

The many different emotions that have entered through my head, are so confusing. It is so exciting yet so scary. Many people say nursing school consumes your life and you have no free time, I’d like to tell you otherwise. I’m so anxious for it to be ove,r but yet wonder what I will do when I’m done.

Many people say that nursing school takes over your life and you have no free time to do anything. Right now, I have a full time job and am a full time student. I still find time for myself. Though I am just starting out and haven’t had any exams yet, I still always find time with friends. I try to make it a priority once a week to go to a movie or out to eat or something that will get me out of the house and get my mind off of school. I would love to tell everyone to do this as well. Find time for yourself and enjoy your college life while you can!

I always get asked what I’m going to do when I am done with school. This is the hardest question about nursing school. I HAVE NO IDEA!! Yes, there are dreams of working places but I haven’t gone through clinical’s so maybe that isn’t what I want to do. Going into nursing school with an open mind is truly the only way to do it!

The first classes of nursing school are all about legal stuff, theories, and how to make beds. This may seem boring now, but could save your nursing license someday. If you do not pay attention or read your book with intent, you will miss the little things that can get you into the trouble. So please, read your text and pay attention, even though it may seem boring!! Know that you are not in this alone and always ask for help if you are struggling because you are not the only one.Learn about the  Mercy College B.S.N. Program!
