Thank you to Diana Deibler who has served on the Mercy College of Health Sciences Board of Directors for the past nine (9) years. In her tenure on the Mercy College Board, Deibler served as the 2013-14 Chair, 2014-15 Vice Chair, and the 2015-16 Secretary. Deibler's final term came to a close in August, 2017.
“Health is intrinsically interesting to me because it’s something that affects all of us—a common denominator,” Deibler says.
Deibler says one of the Board's proudest achievements in the past few years is the “overwhelming success” of the College’s new Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program, which was projected to attract 32 students but brought 68 to Mercy for its first semester in the fall of 2014. "The shortage of qualified nurses has been discussed as long as I’ve been around health care, and that need is even more pressing today,” she says.
Another major accomplishment: the accreditation of Mercy College by the Higher Learning Commission, a regional accreditation agency that recently evaluated the College after an extensive peer review. “The standards for accreditation continue to get more stringent, so this is a significant achievement for the College," Deibler says. “It’s a proud moment for all of us and a testament to the excellence our students and their future employers expect and deserve.”
